Social networking and mobile communication services are shoring up their resources as mobile messaging sees a surge in popularity.  Son Jung-in has more.  Companies in the social networking and mobile communications sector are enjoying the benefits of a robust and growing mobile messaging market,. . .  as they gear up for a battle that will determine who will become the top brand for more than a billion smart phone users worldwide. In Korea, search engine Aver is number one, thanks to its mobile messaging app Line. Line's annual sales last year stood at 427 million U. S.  dollars,. . .  a 690 percent increase from a year earlier.  The messaging application has grown to more than 370 million subscribers since its creation in 2011. Nader's market value in Korea is 27-billion dollars, the fifth largest in the country,and there's only a small gap between it and fourth place SK Hynix and third place Hyundai.  Nader saw its stock value skyrocket after it split from NHN last August.  That landed the company in sixth place, allowing it to overtake KIA motors in December.  And just last month, it beat POSCO to take fifth place. In the global mobile messaging market, Facebook is also back on track since topping its sales target in the third quarter of last year.  Its recent acquisition of fast-growing messaging start-up WhatsApp has also helped it maintain its momentum. If you're thinking of buying a computer, you may have wondered: Is a laptop right for me?Depending on how you plan to use it, the answer may be "yes. Another important difference is that laptops use a battery.  The battery can provide power to the laptop when you're on the go, and it will recharge whenever it's plugged in.  Ana dded benefit of having a battery is that if the power goes out, the battery can work as a backup power source.  Instead of a mouse, laptops usually have built-in touch pad, also known as a track pad.  You can control the pointer on the screen by using a drawing motion with your finger.  If you haven't used a touch pad before, the experience is a little bit different from using a mouse, and it may take a while to get used to.  If you're buying a desktop computer, you can mix and match almost any monitor, keyboard, and mouse that you want.  With a laptop, you won't have quite as much freedom, since everything is built-in.  However, if you want to have the best of both worlds, you can use your laptop's ports to connect a separate monitor,keyboard, and mouse -- basically turning your laptop into a desktop.  And of course, when ever you want to, you can simply disconnect everything and take your laptop with you. Computer Basics: Inside a Desktop Computer

You may already know that there are a lot of important parts inside a desktop computer,but what exactly do they do? In this video, we're going to take a look inside, to show you the various components that make a computer work. Every computer has a large circuit board called a motherboard.  This contains some of the most important parts of your computer such as the CPU, also called the Central Processing Unit processor.  The CPU is sometimes called the brain of the computer, because it processes information and carries out commands.  Since it tends to get hot, it's covered by a piece of metal called a heat sink, which draws heat away from the processor. The motherboard also contains your computer's RAM, or Random Access Memory.  This is the short-term memory that your computer uses whenever it's performing calculations.  However,you can't store your files there, because the RAM is cleared when you turn off the computer. For long-term storage, your computer uses a hard drive, which keeps all of its data even when the computer is turned off.  Most hard drives use a magnetic platter to store data, but many newer computers have solid-state drives, which are faster and more durable,but also more expensive.  If you want to upgrade your computer, you can add expansion cards to the motherboard's expansion slots.  You can add a video cardio get better graphics performance, or you can add a wireless card to connect to your wireless home network.  Of course, your computer's components need electricity to run.  The power supply unit is designed to take the power from the wall outlet and send it to all of the different components that need power. A desktop computer is a pretty complex machine, but now that you've seen what goes on inside,it should be a little less mysterious.
